Being silly

At church last weekend men and women were throwing silk scarves up in the air making a tunnel and others were running through the tunnel. They were joyful and child-like in their silliness. I turned to my friend and said I've never been able to be silly. It brought to mind times as a child when I was told don't be silly. I had never thought of it before and was surprised at how words can impact us. I thought of all the funny faces of people on facebook and wondered why people make faces. Just being silly I guess. I have joy because Jesus loves me and I love Him but I don't have fun just being silly. I'll have to work on that.

From Radical Lesbian to Redeemed Christian: An Autobiographical Interview with Rosaria Champagne Butterfield

An excellent interview posted on John Pipers blog. From homosexual to Heterosexual

Do homosexuals go to heaven?

When people sin we try to hide them. Lying, theft, adultery, murder, we want to hide them. We know that they are wrong and we don't want people to find out about them. If we commit adultery our spouse will most likely divorce us, we could lose financially, we could lose our children, we could lose the respect of others, so we try to hide it. If we commit crimes against the law of the land like theft, murder, lying (perjury) arson, drunk driving, etc. we want to hide them because we don't want to get caught and go to jail. Why are homosexuals the only ones that take 'pride' in their sins. In the same way that most people naturally try to hide their sins it is only unnatural relations that unnaturally flaunt their sins before God. It is not normal human behaviour to admit to wrongdoing. We sometimes go to great lengths to hide our sins. Should that fact that some homosexuals parade themselves in 'pride' not tell us something. It's not normal. Romans 1:24-28 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. God created Adam and Eve, one man and one woman, to procreate and fill the earth. Two women together or two men together cannot produce offspring. If God had created Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve we would not be here. Life on earth would not exist. That should tell you that homosexuality is not normal. That said we are all sinners, every one of us. We are all due the wrath of God. It is only by God's grace and Jesus' redemptive work on the cross that we can be saved. I do not hate homosexuals, liars, adulterers, murders. I hate homosexuality, lying, adultery, murder. My grandson, niece, and daughter's half sister are all homosexuals, I have friends who are homosexual. I love all of them dearly. The bible says these groups of people will not inherit the kingdom of God. I do not want any of my family to spend eternity in hell which is where all these people will unless they turn from their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. I pray that if you read this and you have been living a life of homosexuality that you will stop believing a lie and start believing the truth. Jesus Christ is the truth and only He can, and will if you ask Him, set you free. The truth is you were created in the image of God and He gave His only Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for your sins and that whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life. Jesus died to reconcile you to God the Father. If you are not reconciled to God the Father through Jesus Christ you will suffer the wrath of God and spend eternity in hell.

Faith to believe I'm healed

Studying the book of James with Beth Moore's dvd teaching I was getting a new understanding of faith May 20. The oncologist has repeatedly told me that the cancer I was diagnosed with was terminal and incurable and that the tumour destroyed by chemo would come back. I have told him Jesus was going to heal me. Jesus gave me a promise to heal me, He confirmed it 3 days later through someone else and now tells me I'm healed. I'm going to believe Him. I continued to get symptoms and started to wonder if I was really healed. Then I thought of how the devil doesn't want us to believe the truth and will cause us to doubt. I determined right then that I would believe Jesus and I would stand on the personal promise and word that He gave me. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone... does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. The bible says in James 1:6-7 that when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. Abraham acted on his faith when he was going to sacrifice Isaac and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Jesus healed me of cancer

A couple of years ago I had asked God what He saw when He looked at me. March 8, 2013 I asked God again what He saw when He looked at me. This time He said healed. Thank You Jesus. Praise You Lord!!! He has manifested His promise to me that He gave me 2/26/12 and confirmed 2/29/12. Jesus still heals today.

Rambling thoughts

I started this blog in 2004 when I was going to live in Costa Rica. God had called me to quit my 26 year job, sell the new house I had built and move to CR. A friend said it would be a great way to see what I was doing. Now with facebook I mostly post my thoughts on there. But if you can read my posts it's because I've friended you and some of my thoughts I can't post because they would be hurtful to some people I love and I don't want to hurt those I love. So this morning at church when the speaker was telling us about her blog I thought about resurrecting my blog so I could post my thoughts anonymously. I'm not a writer, never felt anything I had to say was important to anyone, so here I can pour my heart out if I so desire without caring if someone tells me what I say isn't important. If anything I say touches your heart I'm glad. If it moves you to be a better person I'm really glad. I might ramble a bit or a lot. Living alone I don't always have someone to share my thoughts with so I will share them on here. Sometimes I feel I'm supposed to share my thoughts but because I think they would hurt someone I don't, at least not on facebook so I will be sharing them here.

Promise Confirmed

Little did I know when I last posted that God would confirm His promise of healing through someone else 3 days later. I went to bible study and asked if I could share my dream. I shared my dream and the scripture verse and the group's leader's eyes got huge. She said that before coming to church that morning she had asked God if He had a verse for any one of the 13 women in the group. She said it was for me and it was the exact same scripture. Psalm 41:3. Wow! What an awesome God we serve.

trusting God for my healing.

"dreamt about people from windword coming to my house and into my bedroom. i went in to my bathroom to make myself look nice and my outside wall came down and a film crew came in to shoot a film/movie scene on my bed. the director asked me what were the scriptures that referred to a bed. the young actress was going to be on the bed speaking about the bed." i was so tired but felt i had to write this dream down. when i woke up i got my concordance out to look up bed feeling this was the key word from the dream. psalm 41:3 The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness. i've been praying for myself and two other people diagnosed with terminal cancer. one friend (barb) said the film crew is because i'm going to have a testimony about my healing.

Psalm 103:3 Praise the LORD who heals all your diseases.

Matthew 17:20 Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Luke 9:1 Jesus gave us power and authority to cure diseases and to heal the sick.

Luke 10:19 Jesus gave us authority to overcome all the power of the enemy.

Luke 13:12 Jesus said, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.”

Mark 5:34 Jesus said “Daughter, your faith has healed you.

i am getting tired of and angry that so many people are dying of cancer. a couple of months ago God called me to be faith. not faithful, just faith. the doctors have told myself and the other 2 people i'm praying for that there is no cure for the cancer we have. so if there is no cure what hope do we have? God! when you have nothing left but God you will find that God is all you need. someone once said no wonder i had so much joy, i knew i was going home. i know i'm going home, but i'm not going home yet. God's not finished with me yet. and He's going to heal me. to God be the glory. praise You Lord!

healing prayer

i don't believe in luck, good or bad. i believe in the absolute sovereign providence of God. for a few days i've been wondering if i wanted to be healed. i've struggled for a couple of days with the evil and wickedness of this world. why would i not want to go to heaven and be with God. i'd see my mom again and see how happy she finally is. a very dear lady came to me and said the church nee...ded to contend in prayer for my healing but i had to want to be healed. God was telling her the same thing He was asking me. i had told God that if He wasn't finished with me here He needed to change my heart. this morning i thought even if i were married it wasn't enough. i would rather be with Him. He adores me and i adore Him. romans 8:28 is my favourite verse and even when God allows pain or unpleasant circumstances i know it's because He loves me and that it's for my good. well after the first round of puking my guts out yesterday morning i said ok God i want to be healed. i had had my regular breakfast that i've had almost every day for months. even after i puked the first round i felt great so i knew it wasn't the flu. after the 3rd round i was getting worn down and i said ok God i've had enough. i'll go for healing prayer. for the many times God has told me to wait this year i guess it's not heaven just yet.

cancer

in 2006 i was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a form of non-hodgkins disease. i was told it was stage iv, in my bone marrow, it was terminal, there was no cure, that it was slow growing and i had 7 - 10 years. when the surgeon who had performed the biopsy told me this i smiled and said ok :o). he said he'd never had anyone smile when they were diagnosed with terminal cancer. i smiled again. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He has given me absolute peace the entire time. last year a friend said no wonder i had so much joy i knew i was going home. i had asked God a few years ago if He was going to heal me and i thought He said no. ok. i was ok with that. i was looking forward to going home. i keep going up for prayer when i'm at different places and have asked for prayer because it's been hard for me to ask for prayer for myself. i travail for other people in prayer but not for myself. 2 weeks ago i asked God again if He was going to heal me and i have told Him i don't like yes or no answers. He said I'm not. ok. :o) total peace. like paul said to live is Christ, to die is gain. Phil 1.21 It's hard not to think i would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2Cor 5.8 when i told a friend that God had "I'm not" going to heal me she asked how i felt about that. i told her "But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." after this i talked to a lady that had prayed for me and she said she and others believed God was going to heal me. i started thinking about God's Word and over and over He says we are healed. i started thinking that what i heard God say did not line up with His Word and started talking to Him about it. i talk to Him but He, other than a word here and there has been silent for 2 years since oct 31. nov 7 last year God told me to be still and then followed with just wait, be patient, wait, soon, wait, wait, wait. since He has been silent i have no idea what i'm waiting for. He has told me i will have a husband. am i waiting for healing, a husband or heaven, a ministry. 11/4 reading in touch mag it talked about clinging to the promises of God. i asked the Holy Spirit to point out applicable promises for my life and Ps 103 came to mind. praise the Lord who heals all our diseases. as i was looking for some scripture john 5:6 almost jumped off the page at me. Jesus asking the invalid at bethesda pool if he wanted to get well. whoa! it was like He was asking me. and it wasn't even underlined or highlited. i really had to think about it and couldn't honestly say yes. this morning i woke up sad for the first time in years. i knew that wasn't from God. i allowed myself to be sad for a bit then told it to get lost. when i went to church i thought i needed to talk to the lady that leads prayer and wrote myself a note thinking i would send her an email later. after service she came to me because God had told her to. she said i needed to come to the prayer nights because they had to contend for my healing. we talked for a bit and she asked if i wanted to get well. i still couldn't honestly say yes. like she said there's no point in praying for my healing if i am not in it. i had a ct scan 3 weeks ago and was told the cancer is progressing in my organs. the gp and oncologist said i should have chemo or radiation. but they've also told me that it won't cure me only treat the symptoms. and recently two people have been told that their heart conditions were caused by chemo. why would i want it? i love God more than my life. Abba if You're not finished with me yet please change my heart.

Laser therapy and cancer

I went for laser therapy on my feet today and I asked the physiotherapist if it would work on reducing tumours. He said no it accelerates cell growth so it wouldn't be used on cancer patients. I told him I was a cancer patient and he stopped immediately to ask me what kind and where etc.

I told him it was in my bone marrow and he said he had to call and find out if that would include the bones in my feet and whether it was safe for me to have laser therapy.

He wrote a letter to the oncologist asking if I am an acceptable candidate for laser therapy and gave me a consent form to sign if the doctor said it was ok.

So do I have laser therapy on my feet so I can hopefully walk without pain knowing it will speed up the growth of cancerous cells?

Hm. I have two questions. How fast would it speed it up and when is Jesus coming back?

Acts 20:21 - They must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.
Acts 27:25 - I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

Like Loren Cunningham said this morning miracles are still happening all around the world today.
Why not here? Are we afraid? Are we doubting? Are we worrying? Are we not trusting God?

Do you believe God or merely believe in Him? Do you believe God is who He says He is? Do you believe God can do what He says He can do? Do you believe you are who God says you are? Do you believe you can do all things through Christ? Do you believe God’s word is alive and active in you?

God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. We are who God says we are. We can do all things through Christ. God’s word is alive and active in us. Start saying these until you believe them.

Seeking God

Lord that I might always, continually, diligently and earnesty seek Your presence and Your Word, I ask that You would provoke in me such an acute hunger and passion for You.

Three devotionals today all talked about the same thing, seeking God. Psalm 105:4 Seek the LORD...seek His presence continually! Isaiah 26:9 9 My soul yearns for You...my spirit...earnestly seeks You. 2Chronicles 15:2 the LORD is with you when you are with Him And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Do you think He might be trying to tell us something.

Seek the LORD your God and you will find Him, if you search after Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Killed for your faith or not for your lack of faith.

Why are non-believers in Christ not persecuted for their lack of faith and why are those who do believe in Christ persecuted? Besides the fact that Jesus said we would be does that make sense to you?

If you are a non-believer reading this does it make you wonder? People aren't trying to kill you. Do you wonder why they would want to kill us?

Eternity - are you ready for it?

are you ready for eternity? do you know where you're going to spend it? God is love and He gave His one and only Son for you. Jesus paid the price for your salvation. God is also holy and just and He cannot and will not let sin taint His heavenly kingdom. only those who have trusted Christ for salvation will enter into heaven. have you?

What satisfies your deepest longings?

Wealthy, western nations don't look to Christ to satisfy their deepest longings, they think they can find satisfaction in money, power, success, new and bigger and better things.

Madonna says she is a material girl and we are living in a material world. Rolling Stones say they can't get no satisfaction, they try and they try but they just can't get no satisfaction.

What satisfies your deepest longings?

Turn from following the occult to following Christ

Wurmbrand says in Tortured for Christ that we must win rulers, leaders in politics, economics, science, and the arts. They mold the souls of men.

At an evangelistic crusade in the Philippines the local witch doctor and his wife came to see what the local priest had told all the villagers to stay away from. At the end of the night the witch doctor and his wife gave their lives to Christ.

What an amazing end to the night knowing that if the people followed the witch doctor in the occult that they would now turn to Christ and follow Him. Praise God!

Faith under Torture

The communist secret police knew that if a man believed in Christ, he would never be a mindless, willing subject. They knew they could imprison the physical body, but they couldn't imprison a man's spirit - his faith in God. (Tortured for Christ - Wurmbrand)

Fox's Book of Martyrs tells hundreds of stories of people's faith sustaining them through indescribable tortures and death, singing praises to God even as they were engulfed in flames.

Would that I have such faith.

An atheist's prayer to God

One day, being a very convinced atheist, I prayed to God. My prayer was something like this: "God, I know surely that You do not exist. But if perchance You exist, which I contest, it is not my duty to believe in You; it is Your duty to reveal Yourself to me. I was an atheist, but atheism did not give peace to my heart. By Richard Wurmbrand, founder of The Voice of the Martyrs.

Needless to say he gave his heart and life to Jesus.

I used to be an atheist too. Praise God He continued to pursue me until I found Him even after I had said there was no God.

God is our Refuge and our Fortress

Psalm 46 (New Living Translation)

1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3 Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
4 A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High.
5 God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. 6 The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts! 7 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. 8 Come, see the glorious works of the Lord: See how he brings destruction upon the world. 9 He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” 11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.
